Annual Board Retreat and Coaches Meeting

Center for Improving Youth Justice hosted Annual Board Retreat and Coaches Meeting alongside our Agency Coordinators Training (ACT), bringing all together from across the country for learning, sharing, and strategic alignment on the work ahead.

Our coaches are the heartbeat of Performance-based Standards program. They carry decades of experience working directly with facilities and leading agencies, and days like these are how we keep sharpening that toolkit, exchanging best practices, learning from one another, and staying grounded in what actually moves outcomes for young people in the youth justice system.

A special thank you to our expert facilitators who guided us through both convenings:

  • Gigi Lawson Woodruff, for a rich session on board governance that will help our Board lead with even greater clarity and purpose
  • Dan Salera, for grounding us in social impact strategy and what it takes to drive lasting change
  • Allison James, for sharing her expertise in fund development to help us build a stronger, more sustainable future

Each of you helped align and guide the work of CIYJ in ways that will ripple out to every young person our network touches.

Gratitude to our Board, our coaches, and our staff for showing up fully present and ready to grow. This is how a national movement stays sharp, connected, and mission-driven.

Onward, together.
