The Center for Improving Youth Justice is excited to announce the Innovative Alternatives Contest to collect and share creative practices and strategies to avoid use of room confinement and isolation. Applications will be accepted through Sept. 30, 2025.

Who is eligible?
The contest is open to all facilities who are members of the performance-based standards program during the time of the contest. (Aug. 11 to Sept. 30, 2025.) We are looking for alternatives that are creative and effective.
Can our site submit more than one entry?
Yes! We encourage sites to submit as many entries as they would like.
How can we resize a video file?
You can submit these file types: PDF, DOC, TXT, RTF, JPG, JPEG and PNG.
What is the prize?
The top five innovators will receive exclusive CIYJ swag and $100 to celebrate with their team. Their contributions will also be highlighted in a blog post and credited in the CIYJ publication.
