Including the perspectives and voices of the young people, their families and staff is critical for creating a youth justice system that is fair, effective and responsive to the needs of those is serves.Involving young people people and families in decision-making creates programs and services more likely to meet their needs and prevent reoffending. Listening to their voices helps to better understand the unique challenges and circumstances they face and can provide the foundation for trust.
